A 100% mass timber construction project is under way in North Carolina

¾«¶«Ó°Òµâ€™s Timberlab is supplying the components for the 67,000-sf structure within the Live Oak Bank campus in Wilmington, N.C.

North Carolina-based architecture firm, JDavis Architects, is developing a six-story, 147,000-square-foot mixed-use development entirely made from mass timber, in collaboration with construction firm ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ. The project is set to be one of the largest mass timber projects in the United States and will help reduce the building’s carbon footprint by up to 60%. The use of mass timber, which is a strong and fire-resistant material that is also sustainable and renewable, will be a significant step forward for sustainable building projects in the United States. The building is targeting LEED Platinum certification and is expected to be completed by late 2022, serving as a model for future sustainable building projects.
